Kidsty Pike (peak)

Fantastic views from one of the highest peaks in the Lakes District we conquered yesterday

Nigel and Andy alongside Haweswater Reservoir

The trail

At one stage the sheep and the Trekkers were using the same trail.

The sheep dogs

Herding sheep

In the rain a number of shepherds were rounding up some sheep from the high ground using dogs.

Day 6 - Patterdale to Burbanks, 7 hours, 20km

We headed off from Greenbank Farm with lambswool in our boots. It was drizzling and the weather only deteriorated. We climbed 1300 up Kidsty Pike. It was hard work and by the time we reached the top there was a glad blowing, it was raining intermittently and fog had reduced visibility to around 5 meters. Very disappointing and quite scary being on the top of a mountain with such limited visibility and gale force winds.
Eventually we descended to the Haweswater Reservoir
