Keld Lodge

Rather bleak looking on the outside but warm and welcoming inside. We arrived about one and had a pint. Genni and Les ate the famous 'curry banana soup'. An experience not to be repeated!

The long road - still not halfway across

Yorkshire Dales

We climbed for about two hours and finally entered the Yorkshire Dales. The wind was fierce. On the dales we saw some 'beaters' fanning out over the hills. As they went over the hill we heard the guns of the shooters as the grouse were put to air. Further on we saw the hunters and their dogs gathering in the moors.

Passing through Nateby

The rain never far away with a rainbow on the horizon

Nateby

We were advised to take the road route due to the persisting high winds. We walked to Nateby then made a left turn for Keld.
