Walk to the railway station along the Swale
We then went for a lovely walk through the park below the house along the Swale and across the bridge to the Railway Station. This is a tourist precinct. We bought some fudge and sat int en ace and enjoyed lunch. We then wended our way home for a rest.
Richmond Castle
After a sumptuous breakfast we did some chores at the chemist. We then went to the Georgian Theatre Royal, the last remaining Georgian theatre in England. It is tiny and rectangular. It seats 250 people on three levels. There are boxes on the sides, and benches in the pit and behind the boxes. Half of the center is stage and the other half seating. We bought tickets for a jazz performance tonight and took a short tour.
Next we went to Ricmond Castle and climbed the tower or the keep. The views of the surrounding countryside were fantastic. A great place for a castle. There was a constant fine drizzle but not enough to interfere with our touring. Genni and I took a look in a local curio/antique shop.
