Farms on banks of Swale river

We walked across paddocks, mostly with sheep. This was a dog working to round up a flock.

Reeth to Richmond, 20km, 5.5 hours

Set off in sunshine after a pleasant breakfast at Ivy Cottage on the village green. We made our way back to the Swale again and followed along the banks for quite a way.

All around on the farms we saw working dogs. This one has been in a muddy field.

We passed through a number of tiny hamlets and some very pretty woodland
