Headed out of Grasmere in drizzle with low fog. We walked a steady ascent to the top of the mountain. At the top we decided that we should take the St Sunday route across the ridge. We walked and clambered up and up. The wind increased and the fog closed in. As we reached the top we decided in the interest of safety that we should retreat. So we descended to the Grisedale Pass.
